When the US flag goes up in the morning an inbred feeling of pride rises within but the reality is that pride comes before the fall. Is the USA a land of freedom and opportunity or has it changed?

I remember, as a child, being taught in grade school about freedom in civics classes. Civics is no longer taught by the way. Freedom is a responsibility as is the responsibility to participate in governance.

In a major victory Occupy Wall Street has won the court case, allowing protest to return in Zucotti Park. It was only a few months ago that Bloomberg had his special assault team attack protestors in Zucotti Park under the guise of health hazard, promising to allow protestors they could return the next day. Bloomberg used a common tactic of lying to stop the 3 month long protest by having his white shirts erect a fence and ban all from enjoying the park.

Mayor Bloomberg is not just making trans-fats illegal in NYC but has gone on record that New Yorkers must give up their freedoms because the world is too dangerous for freedom. Bloomberg said "As the world gets more dangerous, people are willing to have infringements on their personal freedoms that they would not before." This, of course, is in direct contradiction to the American way, as the oft-quoted Benjamin Franklin famously put, “Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” So is Bloomberg giving in to terror?

With over 400 sorties flown over Tripoli this weekend, killing at least 1300 Tripoli citizens, NATO has laid waste to a nation and allowed insurgents to enter the capital. The insurgents flush with the billions of dollars Obama released to them entered the capital with new tanks and armored vehicles bringing arms and munitions to those opposed to the government. The fighting still goes on.

Fresh funding from the UK releasing Ghadafi billions to government insurgents is hoped to finish the 40-year reign and the six months of relentless bombing by the USA, UK and France.
